Easter in Melbourne

At last Melbourne!!!
Thanks to my job i've had the opportunity to spend 10 days down in Melbourne!
Amazing city, lot different to Brisbane.
Melbourne is the "European footprint" in Australia.
Italian and Greek cultures mixed with hundreds of others from any part of the world, makes of this city the most cultural, cosmopolitan, international environment in this country.
You may easily walk in a cafe and hear a "Buongiorno" coming from a barista serving you a wonderful caffé ristretto or walk down the streets and enjoy the amazing modern architecture.

Grazie al mio lavoro ho avuto la possibilità di trascorrere 10 giorni a Melboourne!
Una bellissima città, tanto diversa da Brisbane.
Melbourne é come una " traccia Europea" in Australia.
Le culture Italiana e Greca si intrecciano con altre centinaia provenienti da tutto il mondo, facendo di questa città la più internazionale del Paese.
Non é una sorpresa entrare in un bar qualunque e sentire un "Buongiorno" dal barista che serve un gustosissimo caffé ristretto o camminare per le strade e godere della stupenda architettura moderna.

Pino!!!!!
I met Pino almost a year ago In Brussels, somebody told me he was Australian...With that name? It Doesn't really sound like, hun?

Ho incontrato Pino a Bruxelles un anno fa circa, qualcuno mi disse che era Australiano....Con un nome cosi'? Ci ho creduto poco...




One of my favourite areas, North Fitzroy, heaps of alternative fashion, furniture, books, music shops.
And of course...If you feel like a snack...Greek soulaki everywhere!!!

Uno dei miei quartieri preferiti, North Fitzroy, tanti negozi alternativi di libri, mobili, musica.
Voglia di uno snack? Non manca mai un Soulaki greco.




This is the Pino's family property in Mornington Peninsula, about one hour driving east from Melbourne, Pino's father, Pietro was born in Australia from Italian parents, Calabria. He bought this property and developed in an authentic old style Italian vigna, we spent together the easter week-end, enjoing Pietro's preserves and pouring home wine. I had not spent a week-end with a family since 8 months and the pleasure was double.

Questa é la proprietà dei genitori di Pino nella Penisola di Mornington, circa un'ora ad est da Melbourne, il papà di Pino, Pietro, é nato in Australia da genitori calabresi. Ha comprato la tenuta e trasformatain un'autentica vigna vecchio stile, abbiamo trascorso insieme il fine settimana della pasqua, approfittando delle conserve di Pietro e bevendo vino. Non avevo trascorso un week-end in famiglia da 8 mesi. É stato veramente piacevole.

Hey guys,
this is a new entry in the blog and...In my life!!
This is Fredo, i adopted him 2 months ago. He's only 5 months old now.
He is a Kelpie cross, it's so funny to see him bouncing, running and pleasing people in the backyeard and around West-End!
He is a lovely happy dog and i hope he will stay with me for a long long time

Vi presento Fredo, l'ho adottato 2 mesi fa. Adesso ha solo 5 mesi.
É un bastardino incrociato con un Kelpie, si diverte a zompettare, correre e farsi accarezzare da chiunque nel giardino di casa mia ed in giro per il quartiere!
É buono e sempre allegro, spero possa rimanere con me piú a lungo possibile
