Blue Mountains (New South Wales)

The Blue Mountains are found approximately 100 kilometers west of Sydney.A large majority of the Blue Mountains is incorporated in the Greater Blue Mountains Area and considered World Heritage Site.

The name derives from the blueish tinge the range takes on when viewed at a distance, which is caused by the release of volatile oils from Eucalyptus forests. (Most mountains and plains in the forested parts of Australia take on a similar hue: the Blue Mountains were a familiar sight to early British settlers in the Sydney district long before the bulk of the continent was explored by non-native people.)

Le Blue Mountains si trovano a circa 100 km direzione Ovest da Sydney. La maggior parte delle Blue Mountains é incorporata nelle Greater Blue Mountains Area ed é un luogo dichiarato patrimonio mondiale.

Il nome deriva dalla foschia blu che si intravede a distanza, dovuta agli volatili rilasciati dagli alberi della foresta di Eucaliptus.(Gran parte delle montagne ed altipiani delle foreste in Australia prendono questa particolare tinta: Le Blue Mountains erano un sito abbastanza familiare ai primi coloni della provincia si Sydney ancora prima dell' intera esplorazione del resto del continente da parte di non-nativi)

Happy New YEAR!!!!
I traveled with mom thru the outback(at last a little part of it) all the way down to New South Wales to join Pietro, Christian and Simona and celebrate the New year's eve together. The fire works in Sydney were amazing, thousands of people had been sittin' all day waiting for them around Darling Harbour Bridge, the Opera house and the beaches to attend the show. They went on for 30 minutes, after that we ejoyed a walk around the vibrant area of Kings Cross.

We spent the day after in Tamarama beach, it was a beautiful and hot day!!!

Abbiamo attraversato l'outback (almeno una parte) per raggiungere in New South Wales Pietro, Christian e Simona e celebrare con loro la notte di Capodanno. lo spettacolo dei fuochi d'artificio a Sydney é stato bellissimo, migliaia di persone erano assiepate gia dal mattino intorno a Darling Harbour bridge, l'Opera House e le spiagge per assistere allo show di mezzanotte. I fuochi sono durati per oltre 30 minuti, dopo lo spettacolo siamo andati in giro per il quartiere di Kings Cross.

Abbiamo trascorso il primo dell'anno sulla spiaggia di Tamarama, era una giornata calda e bellissima!!!
